Objectives

Here is what you should learn:

  • Create PowerPoint presentation slides incl. pictures and graphics
  • Improve your spelling and grammar skills 
  • Improve your reading comprehension through identifying conte
  • Learn how to annotate a text  
  • Study and describe a character by looking at phrases, words and context

 

Essential Questions:

What are some major environmental issues and their effects on the earth?

What are important facts about the ski resort Garmisch Partenkirchen?

How do Germans recycle?

How is that different from what we do here?

What are the differences between German and American hotels?

 

Unit Standards:

ML.5.1.3 Exchange Reactions
The learner will be able to exchange personal reactions to spoken and written information related to the target culture(s).
ML.5.6.3 Research and Report
The learner will be able to research and report on contemporary or historical events and issues.
ML.5.5.3 Produce and Present
The learner will be able to produce well-organized presentations suitable for the audience and the purpose.
ML.5.4.5 Produce and Present
The learner will be able to produce brief oral presentations (minimal errors in present tense, some errors with past and future tenses), using visual and technological support as appropriate.
ML.5.7.1 Research and Discuss
The learner will be able to research and discuss how the viewpoints of people in countries where the target language is spoken are reflected in their practices and products, such as political systems, art, architecture, music, and literature.
ML.5.7.2 Discuss Relationships
The learner will be able to discuss how topics studied in other subject areas relate to those studied in the target language class.
ML.5.7.3 Discuss History
The learner will be able to express opinions about the role of major contemporary and historical figures and events from the cultures studied.
