What are some aspects that gove away the time period the book was written in?

What are differences in culture from how people get married here and in Germany?

What are the differences between German and American hotels?

 

Unit Standards:

ML.5.1.3 Exchange Reactions
The learner will be able to exchange personal reactions to spoken and written information related to the target culture(s).
ML.5.6.3 Research and Report
The learner will be able to research and report on contemporary or historical events and issues.
ML.5.5.3 Produce and Present
The learner will be able to produce well-organized presentations suitable for the audience and the purpose.
ML.5.4.5 Produce and Present
The learner will be able to produce brief oral presentations (minimal errors in present tense, some errors with past and future tenses), using visual and technological support as appropriate.
ML.5.7.1 Research and Discuss
The learner will be able to research and discuss how the viewpoints of people in countries where the target language is spoken are reflected in their practices and products, such as political systems, art, architecture, music, and literature.
ML.5.7.2 Discuss Relationships
The learner will be able to discuss how topics studied in other subject areas relate to those studied in the target language class.

The learner will be able to express opinions about the role of major contemporary and historical figures and events from the cultures studied.

  • Episoden 1, 2, 3 lesen und Fragen  due Mittwoch
  • Wortschatz:  Vocab Episoden 1+2.doc  Write sentences to describe these words  due Donnerstag
  • Schreiben: Retell in your own words (and use the new vocabulary) what happend in the first three chapters.  Write 1 paragraph per chapter and post it on the wiki and e mail it to me. due Freitag

 

Am Montag, den 10 November geht es weiter.... mit Episoden 4 und 5

  • Episoden 4 und 5 lesen und Fragen  due Mittwoch
  • Personenbeschreibung: Beschreibe die zwei Hausmeisterinnen. Warum, denkst du, gibt es sie in der Geschichte? due Dienstag nach der Klasse

 

Tasks/Milestones:

  • Wer ist wer? Beschreibung der Hauptpersonen (open-ended descriptions to which you add as you get to know that character better)
